About Kaomoji

Kaomoji originated in Japan in the 1980s and have since become a worldwide phenomenon. Unlike Western emoticons that are read sideways (like :-)), kaomoji are designed to be read face-on and often use a wider range of Unicode characters to create expressive faces.

The term "kaomoji" combines the Japanese words kao (face) and moji (character). They are popular across social media, messaging apps, Discord servers, and gaming communities.
