Minecraft Formatting Tips
- Color codes use § followed by 0-9 or a-f (like hex, but only 16 colours)
- Formatting codes (§l, §o, etc.) can be combined with colour codes
- Always put the colour code before the formatting code: §4§l for bold dark red
- Use §r to reset all formatting back to default
- Java Edition servers often use & instead of § (plugins convert it)
- Bedrock Edition supports § directly in chat and on signs
- Unicode symbols work best in Java Edition; Bedrock has limited support
