About the Interpunct Symbol
The interpunct (middle dot) is a small dot placed at the vertical centre of a line of text. It has been used since ancient Greek and Latin as a word separator. Today it appears in Catalan (ela geminada), mathematics, linguistics, and as a typographic separator in user interfaces.
